Aim

The aim of this workshop is to introduce participants to the basic and advanced query and reporting features of the RCSB Protein Data Bank. After participating in this workshop, users should be able to effectively use the RCSB PDB in their research projects. Advanced users will learn new "tricks of the trade".

This workshop is suitable for novices and experts.

Protocol

This is an interactive session where partipants learn how to browse and search the PDB. The specific topics will be adjusted based on participants interests.

We will explore drug design related questions:

  • How to find a target protein or related proteins?
  • What is the biologically relevant unit?
  • How to find structures with bound ligands?
  • How to visualize structures and protein-ligand interactions?
  • How to create datasets for comparative analysis?
